The Importance of Self Awareness in Hair Loss
Hair loss is a very personal situation. Some people are genuinely ok with losing hair. For others, the thought is devastating.
The most important aspect of this whole process is personal self awareness about how it affects you, not what others want you to believe about you hair. It is important to not fall prey to dogma, or living with the results of other people's thinking. Our family and friends are often poor guides in this area, as many of them don't have experiential overlap.
So the question you have to be honest with yourself, and only yourself, is will visible hair loss affect you at your stage in life (20s, 30s, 40s, etc).
What If I struggle being honest with myself?
That's ok too! One step on the path to self awareness is the realization that you may not always be sure how you will react to future situations. If your unsure of how important it is to you, we recommend downloading the BaldBooth App and see what you would look like bald.
Don't Give Up
It is easy to not put effort into things that are on a slow decline. That is the worst thing you can do with hair loss. You must build a routine that works for you and stick to it for 6 months before even beginning to judge the results, although many people will experience results much quicker.
"Many hair loss patients who ultimately arrive at a medical clinic have waited years before doing anything, causing us to use more extreme treatments to stimulate hair growth" says medical expert Dr. Luna, MD. "If patients had simply started earlier and were more aggressive with topical and OTC treatments, they would be much better candidates to keeping their hair and could avoid expensive procedures such as surgery, PRP, laser therapy, and microneedling."
Build The Right Habits, and They Build You
"In the first 30 years of your life, you make your habits. For the last 30 years of your life, your habits make you" -Ancient Hindu Proverb
Total Hair Optimization is always the result of staying focused. Keeping your hair in its optimal shape involves a daily routine. This is no different than any of the other personal care routines you probably do on a daily basis. The majority of the population brushes their teeth twice a day, applies deodorant, and shaves. Addressing hair loss is simply another personal care routine.
