Banana & Peanut Bliss Exfoliating Shampoo: As Formulated by AI

Banana & Peanut Bliss Exfoliating Shampoo: As Formulated by AI

A flaky scalp is the sort of hair problem you can't live with. It itches so often that you have to surrender to the invitation to scratch it, and then bear the sight of dried white or brown flakes underneath your fingernails. While flakes can't disappear overnight, they can certainly listen to the voice of a shampoo formulated to exfoliate your scalp and promote blood circulation.

We asked AI to suggest a formula for a shampoo that could do this job. To amplify the exfoliating properties of the shampoo, we will increase the concentrations of salicylic acid and willow bark extract, and introduce an additional exfoliating agent, lactic acid.

Here's the updated formulation:

Core Ingredients

Sodium lauroyl methyl isethionate

Sodium lauroyl methyl isethionate is a mild surfactant for a thorough cleanse without irritation. In case you weren't aware, a surfactant is also known as a surface-active agent, which means it works on the surfaces to which it's applied to lure dirt out of them.

Cocamidopropyl betaine

Cocamidopropyl betaine enhances the lather of the shampoo and provides gentle conditioning. A greater percentage of it makes the shampoo stir up a lot of foam, which may be a plus if you love letting your hair sit for weeks before washing it.

Salicylic acid

What good is an exfoliating shampoo if it can't exfoliate? An increased concentration of salicylic acid enhances exfoliation, removing flakes and promoting a healthier environment.

Ginger extract

Ginger is known for its ability to promote blood circulation and invigorate the scalp. It also loosens up dead skin cells wafting on the scalp, clearing the way for a brighter, healthier scalp.

Chamomile extract

If your hair, and your entire head sometimes, feels a lot like its on fire, you'll appreciate the soothing properties of chamomile. Chamomile is primarily sourced from countries in Europe, especially Germany and Hungary, as well as Egypt. When it's included in a shampoo applied to the scalp, it soothes the scalp like a thorough massage after a long day.

Green tea extract

Green tea is rich in a variety of antioxidants, the most notable being catechins, which include epicatechin, epicatechin-3-gallate, epigallocatechin, and epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). EGCG is considered the most biologically active and is researched extensively for its potential health benefits.

These antioxidants are known for their ability to fight cellular damage, reduce inflammation, and combat various diseases.

Flavonoids and polyphenols, such as quercetin, kaempferol, and myricetin, are also present in green tea, contributing to its antioxidant properties.

These compounds work together to protect the body against oxidative stress, thereby supporting overall health and potentially reducing the risk of chronic diseases.

Willow bark extract

Willow bark contains salicylic acid content, which works to exfoliate your scalp, bidding adieu to dead skin cells and build-up. Talk about a flake-free fabulous crown!

Willow bark extract gently purifies and preps those locks to absorb all the goodness from your hair care. And it can soothe any irritation, leaving you with nothing but comfort and luscious hair. Willow bark in shampoos? A runway-worthy performance for your tresses!

Lactic acid

Lactic acid, a darling of the alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) family, steps into the spotlight when it comes to exfoliating the scalp.

With its gentle acidic charm, it works to break down the bonds between dead skin cells, allowing them to be washed away with ease, revealing a refreshed and rejuvenated scalp beneath.

This delicate exfoliation process not only clears away the old, but also paves the way for better absorption of nourishing haircare products, contributing to a healthier and happier scalp environment.

The result? A revitalized foundation ready to support luscious, vibrant locks, thanks to the renewing touch of lactic acid!

Panthenol (pro-vitamin B5)

Panthenol, also known as Provitamin B5, is like a quenching oasis in the desert for thirsty strands, diving deep into the hair shaft to offer unparalleled hydration.

Its superpower lies in its ability to attract and hold moisture, turning dull, lifeless locks into a vision of lusciousness and vitality. Not just a one-trick pony,

Panthenol also steps up the game by improving hair texture, adding a silky smoothness and a glossy sheen that screams health and vibrancy. With Panthenol in the mix, every day is a good hair day, as it transforms each strand into a cascade of hydrated, textured perfection!

Fragrance Notes

Think bananas and peanuts. While the banana extract infuses the shampoo with natural banana fragrance and nourishing properties, the peanut extract adds a warm, nutty scent to the formulation.

Usage Instructions

  • Apply to wet hair and scalp, massage gently, focusing on the scalp, and rinse thoroughly.
  • For best results, use regularly and follow with the Roots Conditioner
